Welcome to pflag Barrie | Barrie-Simcoe County Chapter

plfag Barrie is a local chapter of pflag Canada, a national volunteer-driven charitable organization founded by parents who wished to help themselves and their family members understand and accept their gay and lesbian children. Today, pflag Canada and its chapters serve 2S-LGBTQ+ children, youth by providing a safer, nonjudgmental space to gather, share experiences, lend peer-facilitated support, learn, and grow as rainbow families and caregivers.

Virtual Meetings are available. Email for details / invite code.

pflag Barrie | Barrie-Simcoe County Chapter is one organization of many. The following organizations are also available for support.

A volunteer-run, federally incorporated not-for-profit that promotes equity and inclusion for 2SLGBTQIA+ people in Barrie and Simcoe County. Runs year-round programming including a Transgender Wellness Fund, the Pride Positive Places safe-space business network, and community events.

Provides social and health support services to 2SLGBTQ+ individuals and people living with or affected by HIV/STIs in Simcoe Muskoka. Programs include peer support groups, the "Older and Bolder" seniors social group, rapid HIV testing, and youth programming.

A Black and 2SLGBTQI+-led not-for-profit based in Barrie offering community programs specifically designed for BIPOC 2SLGBTQI+ individuals. Services include safer spaces training, Newcomer Nights, youth leadership programs, and anti-oppression education for organizations.
